Located on 2.16 acres of land, Amico’s work included the development and construction of an 8-storey, 126,000 SF plus 28,100 SF of parking, 135 suite seniors housing including a memory care wing, and independent supportive living retirement community.

Building amenities include: underground parking, outdoor activity area, and a memory care wing.

Amico is responsible for land development, construction and project management for this facility. Amico also submitted to the Ministry of the Environment for approvals related to the development phase of the project. As the Construction Manager, Amico works together with the clients and consultants in value engineering the building to ensure enhanced constructability. Amico was also responsible for overseeing the management of the construction process, including controlling the project schedule and budget, tendering and directing subcontractor work, ensuring quality control, document control, and implementing site safety. Amico self-performed all site servicing and pavement around the building.

Utilizing the integrated partnership with A-LINX Building Technologies (an affiliate to Amico), the buildings superstructure was produced using Modular Construction and completely built in an offsite facility. The exterior shell of the building was a mixture of stone/masonary and Exterior Insulated Façade System (EIFS/Stucco) on load-bearing Cold-Formed Steel walls. Focused on quality and throughput efficiencies of the prefabricated system, Amico was able to significantly reduce the project schedule and exercise value-added coordination with trades during the building process.
