Volkswagen Battery Plant

Description

The Volkswagen Battery Plant is part of a major industrial development in the city of St. Thomas. The project was procured and is being managed by Infrastructure Ontario. Amico is the successful contractor responsible for the grading works of the 170 hectare property. This land will host the new state of the art Volkswagen Battery Cell Plant and other major industrial operations.

Scope

  • 670,000 cubic metres of topsoil stripping
  • 1,100,000 cubic metres cut to fill
  • 1,500,000 cubic metres cut to stockpile
  • 300,000 cubic metres of ditch excavation
  • 1,200,000 metric tonnes of stone placement

  • Maintained and built strong relationship with IO and Provincial Government
