
Hwy. 401 Expansion, Mississauga
Description
Currently under construction, the Project involves the widening and reconstruction of approximately 18 km of Highway 401 from 6 lanes to 10 to 12 lanes to facilitate high-occupancy vehicle median lanes in the western Greater Toronto Area (GTA), from east of the Credit River in Mississauga to west of Regional Road 25 in Milton, ON. The Project also includes bridge reconstruction and replacement, structural culvert replacements, drainage and utilities work as well as extensive environmental protection activities. This project obtained the ISO 9001:2015 certification, three months ahead of the schedule requirement and has been recognized as one of the 2020 Top 100 Canada’s Biggest Infrastructure Projects by ReNew Canada.
Scope
Amico is part of West Corridor Constructors, the consortium awarded the $640M DBF contract for the Project. Amico is a member in each of the consortium’s Applicant Lead, Design Build Joint Venture and the Construction Joint Venture.
