Hazel McCallion Line LRT
Description
The Hazel McCallion LRT (formerly Hurontario LRT) consists of an 18 km line from the Port Credit GO station in Mississauga to the Brampton Gateway Terminal, providing an alternate transport mode to driving and improving connectivity within and between the two municipalities. The project includes 18 surface stops and one below-grade station, a fleet of 28 light rail vehicles and an operations, maintenance and storage facility. The HMLRT will also be fully integrated with municipal transit systems including connections to GO Transit lines and transit ways. The project will be one of the region’s most important transit projects due to its visibility and focus on connecting two of the largest and fastest- growing municipalities in the Province.
