Bois Blanc Island
Description
Bois Blanc is an island in the western mouth of the Detroit River, just above Lake Erie. It was the long-time home of the popular Boblo Island amusement park, until it began development as an exclusive residential enclave. A few historic buildings remain: an expansive dance hall, three stone buildings, a lighthouse and a reconstructed 1812 infantry blockhouse. Access to the island is provided by a private ferry.
Scope
Phase I of the development was substantially completed in the early 2000s. Phase II (the south end) of the island will add single and semi-detached properties for a total of 220 properties overall. Amico provided permitting, servicing, environmental permit compliances along with branding and marketing.
