We’re proud to be playing a leadership role in three of Canada’s 100 biggest infrastructure projects (ReNew, 2025). All are ranked in the top 20, reflecting our capacity to bring bold and innovative ideas to life.
Ranked 7th is Ontario Line, where we won the elevated guideway portion of the contract as part of Trillium Guideway Partners, a joint venture with ACCIONA and designer WSP. This progressive design build contract includes a three-kilometre stretch of an elevated guideway and five above-ground stations (Riverside-Leslieville, Gerrard, Thorncliffe Park, Flemingdon Park and Science Centre). As part of the larger Ontario Line project, the full line will consist of 15.6-kilometres to support easier and faster travel within and beyond Toronto. Enhancing connectivity on our transit systems will provide people with more than 40 alternate travel options, reducing travel times and relieving crowding on the existing transit network.

The 17th largest project is Metrolinx’s Hazel McCallion Light Rail Transit project. This project will bring reliable rapid transit to the cities of Mississauga and Brampton, and Amico is actively contributing to its success as a member of the Mobilinx consortium. This 18-kilometre line will be an environmentally friendly and reliable transportation system supporting Mississauga’s and Brampton’s growth. It will connect 19 stops, providing crucial links to GO Transit (Milton and Lakeshore West lines), the Mississauga Transitway, Brampton Transit, ZUM and MiWay. To reduce traffic and provide a smooth ride, Hazel McCallion LRT will have one dedicated lane along the region’s busiest street. This LRT system will not only get cars off the road but operate with clean, electrically powered light rail vehicles.

Ranked 20th is Metrolinx’s Eglinton Crosstown West Extension, where Amico a part of the Trillium Rail Partners secured the delivery of Stations, Rail and Systems Package, as a Progressive Design Build model. The Stations package includes four underground stations, two elevated stations, one at-grade/trenched terminus station; connection to Eglinton Crosstown LRT at Mount Dennis; six emergency exit buildings; and one stand-alone traction power sub-station. The Rail package includes design and construction of 9.2 km of rail between Mount Dennis Station and the Renforth Station terminus. The Systems package includes the installation of signaling and train control systems; communications; electrification (traction power & overhead catenary system); and tunnel and elevated guideway fit out and tunnel ventilation. Through this project Amico will play a significant role in improving access to transit for area residents, reducing daily travel times for commuters, and promoting economic and community growth along the future transit line.

Through these and other major projects, Amico continues to demonstrate our willingness and ability to tackle bold initiatives and our determination to never stop building partnerships, infrastructure and thriving communities.
